There was also trial into making peanut butter brownies… which were too bitter. So we’ll try again. They looked neat though.

Also tried sugar cookies. They aren’t bad but they don’t have any punch at all. Needs more vanilla.

The Cinnamon Bun Cookies, AKA Crack

We can thank the Ever Bemused Boyfriend for this one. He found a delicious recipe that we shifted around a little and voila! Ended up with cookies that taste just like cinnamon buns! Now, I’m not a fan of white chocolate, but I have to admit, it works so well with cinnamon.

The EBB was very excited about these. He grinned the whole time he was rolling balls. :D

Are these not delicious looking? And they smell just like cinnamon buns! I kid you not! This recipe has been added to the Book. Success!!

Business, Oh My!

Well, a step somewhere after the first but not anywhere near the last in getting a business running is figuring out the legal structure of it. Let me tell you, this is not as easy as it would seem (or perhaps I was the only one who thought the set up would be the easy part.) In any case, I’m currently working the kinks out of how the Cookie will be set up.

I did research on the LLC (limited liability company) idea, but that doesn’t seem to work well with a restaurant. So, it’s back to the sole proprietorship set up. That works out, but it does beg the question of whether or not I might be able to get people to invest in it, or if I’ll have to go through business loans alone. Just something to think about.

Barely keeping myself from going “oh gosh darn it why is life so hard”. But everyone knows that being difficult is no reason to stop doing something! So, onwards in the quest! And baking. I have some from scratch lemon bars I’m trying to perfect…

This blog is for the ideas, recipes, and general babble about the Clockwork Cafe, a desert cafe/bakery that will open someday. Will, not might.

You’ll see a few contributors voicing their ideas and triumphs, and slowly things will add up to a complete business. Should be fun!
